The School of Information Science and Technology (SIST) is one of the largest schools of Fudan University. More than 150 Faculty members work in the school, and around 3200 students study in its 6 bachelor's, 17 master's, and 7 doctoral programmes.
 
Since its foundation in 2000, SIST has reaped remarkable successes in pursuit of innovation and excellence. SIST features the comprehensive advantage of the varieties of disciplines in information and technology and now consists of four departments and one center, which are the Department of Electronic Engineering, the Department of Optical Science and Engineering, the Department of Communication Science and Engineering, Department of Light Sources and Illuminating Engineering and the Micro-Nano System Center. 

The School has over 20 advanced research centers, research institutes, and laboratories including the Ministry of Education Key lab of EMW Information, Shanghai Engineering Research Center of Ultra-Precision Optical Manafacturing, Advanced Lighting Technology Education Ministry of Education Engineering Research Center, and the ASIC State Key Lab jointly operated with the School of Microelectronics, etc.
